Good but has some serious weaknesses

I am an AP US History instructor. Overall this is an excellent review book. HOWEVER, it is very light on some essential topics that the AP US History exam covers extensively. There is very little on early women's history including the concept of separate spheres, republican motherhood, the cult of domesticity, and the Seneca Falls convention. While the reform movement of the 1840s is covered, there is not enough emphasis on the topic. These subjects have surfaced regularly and in depth on previous AP exams in FRQs and DBQs. In addition, he does not mention the key 16 themes that the AP course now stresses and this review guide should include at least a mention all of the topics in the suggested outline published by College Board. Several of the 16 themes are hardly covered (such as the environment) and some topics in the outline are missing such as American Romanticism and art schools (Hudson River School, Ash Can School) which have also come up in released exams and essay topics. In addition, there are several factual errors such as the one on p. 128 which confuses the Missouri Compromise with the Compromise of 1850 under the "Rapid Review Guide" section as well as typos that editing should have caught (ex: Whyte's book The Organization Man is referred to as The Organizational Man on p. 259).

Good Practice, but boring review

I bought this book towards the middle of my AP US History course to study for a midyear Exam. The book is very well organized.
Pros:
- I liked the tips the book gave for answering MC questions and writing essays.
- At the end of every chapter, there are multiple choice questions. These questions are very good; they are similar to AP style questions.
- I like the "Things you need to know to score a 5" section at the end of every chapter, which is basically a bullet point list of the content in that chapter in a nutshell.
- The practice tests are pretty good in terms of matching AP level and style questions.
Cons:
- The 5 step process is a bit unnecessary as they are just common sense!
- The majority of the book is content review of US History, which I feel is extremely boring because of the long narrations. The lack of charts and images really makes reading very boring.
- However, my one complaint is that the end-of-chapter multiple choice questions have answers are directly underneath the questions!!I can't help but look at the answer letter (in bold) directly underneath choice E of the question.

Great but..

This book is wonderful preperation for the AP exam. Everything about it is great except one thing. In the post chapter questions, the answers for each is placed directly under each question which makes it really hard to effectively use them. Its almost impossible to look at choice E wothout noticing the answer.
