Steve Springer, MA, has taught for more than 20 years and has developed teacher-training programs for the Los Angeles Unified School District and internationally. He has a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, focusing on teaching science through the arts.
Kimberly Persiani, EdD, is an associate professor of curriculum and instruction at Cal State University. She presents frequently at teachers' conferences in the United States and internationally.

Great resource for subbing

Overall a very useful book that includes a multitude of well designed templates and reproducibles that I use ALL the time! I have come across as being professional and organized as a substitute teacher from my very first job. The grade-level info has been invaluable though it does focus on K-6 and nothing on middle school and up. Great lists of educational exercises for when there isn't a lesson plan and quick, clever ideas that are easily employable in a variety of grades and across many subject areas. The only bummer is that I have had no luck downloading the "bonus templates" (which are awesome... and are available from the publisher's website) despite numerous attempts. Perhaps it's just my computer set-up. Otherwise I would give this book a 5 star rating. They do include pictures of the bonus templates in the glossary so one could create them on one's own... but the book itself is a great tool for quickly and painlessly becoming a ninja educator!

Great resource for beginning substitutes!

This is a great resource for beginning substitutes. It provides ideas by primary, middle, and upper elementary grades. Some of the forms are helpful for those classes that do not have lesson plans ready.

Cd templates not available

This would be an amazing resource. However none of the templates are available....ugg. I would not waste your time with the ebook edition. I would go with the print copy with the CD
